Featured Retailer - Rejuvenation

Rejuvenation is primarily thought of as an online lighting store. Although they have great lighting options, they also have amazing options in everything from fixtures, to area rugs to organizational pieces. As part of the Pottery Barn/Williams Sonoma brand of companies, Rejuvenation has more unique pieces that are less likely to be found at other big box retailers.

Here are a few of my favorites.

Art Deco Lighting

I’m having a moment with art deco lighting. I used it in my two bathrooms in Boston above the medicine cabinet and I’m so glad I did.

OK, this pendant light is a major splurge, but I can think of at least one space I could use a light like this. The gold. Swoon. The glass shape. Deep breathes. There’s something about this vintage look that has me at Art Deco.

The Quest for Open Shelving

If you’ve seen any of my homes on Instagram, you know I have a love of open shelving as opposed to closed cabinets. I know, I know what you’re thinking. “How can you possibly keep an open shelving clean and orderly?” The answer is really simple and easy to do. Simply assign items to a specific location on a shelf that makes the most sense (i.e. drinking glasses closest to the sink and/or refrigerator. Dishes near the dining area, or stove top if you’re doling out the meal from your stove/oven. Occasionally, the do need to be wiped down, but that was never anything I spent a lot of time on and didn’t do it weekly or even twice a month. Don’t judge me.

I’m loving these aged brass shelf brackets for a couple of reasons.

Although these are 10” (my preference would be 12” because the diameter of a dinner plate is about 10” so a 12” shelf gives you some breathing space. You could correct this issue by adding a 2” block where the bracket could be attached to. Shelving can be cut at your local hardware store or home supply store to be painted or used after staining. I love a glass shelf but if you are extending the shelves, you might see the block behind it which could compromise the look.

Here’s the accessory that they use to add a more custom look to these shelves that also serve an additional purpose. A rod that attaches to the bracket to hang mugs on or utensils, etc.

This next one work ideally on the bottom self. Be sure to measure how high you put your lowest shelf. I made the mistake once of not giving my coffee maker enough height to slip under the shelf. Lesson learned.

Where to Store Pots and Pans?

This item is a perfect add on to the open shelving mentioned above if you’re in need of storing pots and pans.

Purchase s-hooks and hang away!

Sink or Swim? Sink!

It’s killing me. I have no place to put this adorable vintage sink. If you have a laundry room, or a small powder room, this could be ideal. I love the black and white combo as well.

The hardware you could get for this adds another vintage pop to this sink that makes it unforgettable.

I love the look of polished nickel, aged brass, chrome as well as the matte black if you want to keep with the black and white theme. Mixing metals is also totally fine to do!

Use Wall and Vertical Space

If needing more space to store things in your home is an ongoing battle like it is for me, you might appreciate the value of using wall and vertical space to add storage. This is a great looking unit that also has the option for drawers instead of the lower cabinet.

This is my favorite color combination, but choose what most suits your space. I like the combination of closed and open storage.

Here’s a taller option if your ceilings are high enough:

What NOT to Buy at Rejuvenation

I never like to advise my readers on what NOT to purchase from a retailer I’m featuring, but the price point on things like mirrors, accessories such as pillows, throws and dining ware are very overpriced for what they are. I’d hit the big box discount home stores for these items. It may take a bit longer to find the ideal piece, but it’s worth the wait given the money you’ll save.
