Duvet or Not Duvet
I have a love-hate relationship with duvets. A duvet is basically a covering for a comforter in a design you love and possibly can’t get in a comforter. I recently fell prey to the pattern of my new duvet for my bedroom and I love it. With one exception. I find them to be challenging to “stuff” the comforter (which can be changed out depending on weather or your own taste).
There are some tricks and tips that I’ve found are helpful and here’s one that Pottery Barn put together as an instructional tool for anyone contemplating purchasing a duvet cover for their bedding.
You can also have ties sewn inside the duvet cover as well as the comforter or quilt you may be inserting into the duvet so that they can be tied together and stay together longer. I’m a bit of a tosser and turner at night so that was another reason I put off purchasing a duvet. The good news is that I’m finding it to be easier than I expected to keep it in place.
Here are a few duvet covers I love.
The blue and Asian accents make me swoon . . . in the right room.
Another Choineseoir that reminds me a bit of Ralph Lauren meets Asia!
This reminds me of a Farrow & Ball Lotus Wallpaper with its art deco vibe.
I love the sunny and subtle pattern of this duvet as well.
I also love hypo-allergenic inserts, although goose down is amazing as well (if you don’t have allergies).
Here are a couple of options for duvet inserts, for a lighter look and warmer months.
A down-alternative option.
Lightweight cooling comforter.
This is an awesome option! It looks good should you forgo the duvet altogether!
