Fall Wardrobe Closet Changeover
If you live in New England, you understand the need for a fall closet changeover. If you don’t, you probably can appreciate it as well due to changes in colors that might reflect the season. Regardless, it’s probably time for a good closet clean out, reorganization and transition.
The process is similar to any organizational project, but here are a few tools I like to use when it comes to closet clean up and seasonal shift.
Featured Retailer - Rejuvenation
Rejuvenation is primarily thought of as an online lighting store. Although they have great lighting options, they also have amazing options in everything from fixtures, to area rugs to organizational pieces. As part of the Pottery Barn/Williams Sonoma brand of companies, Rejuvenation has more unique pieces that are less likely to be found at other big box retailers.
Here are a few of my favorites.
Fall Cleanup and Clean Out – The Kitchen Project
Fall, like Spring time seems like a perfect time to clean out your space and get organized for the new academic year. Whether you’re in school or not, I always feel nostalgic this time of year and feel like it’s the start of a new chapter.
There are a few projects I’ve begun to tackle and hope to have before and after photos to show you as proof that I practice what I preach! I’ll share with you what’s worked for me in hopes that it can help you as well! Today, we’re focusing on the kitchen!
Now Trending…
I’m not a fan of following trends, in anything, but it’s not a bad way to keep you current and feeling “on trend.” Personally, I love the classics, so here are some classics that I keep seeing pop up in decorating trade publications, home magazines and even popular culture.
Pillow Talk
The fall to me is a great time to do a bi-annual clean up and one of the areas that I’ve recently upgraded are my bedding. Everything from sheets, duvet, duvet cover and maybe most importantly pillows.
According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), we should be replacing our pillows every two years or sooner. This is because pillows can get pretty dirty. As pillows reach the end of their lifecycle, they can contain allergens like pet dander, dust mites, and even mold. Now that gives dust mites something to snack on, doesn’t it. I know. Gross!
Here are a few recommendations I can make if you’re looking to switch out your pillows for something you might like more and perhaps increase the life of your pillows.
Items to Buy During Labor Day
If you love a good deal, here are some items I recommend for the upcoming Labor Day weekend!
Back to School, Back to Work, Back to Home
There’s something about a cooler day in August that reminds me that fall is right around the corner and I tend to work on an academic calendar year, back to school, back to work and back to making my home cozier with the cooler weather.
It’s often a time when we want to get projects done – before the holidays. If that’s the case, hopefully you’ve lined up the necessary people to help you get the job done. Either way, here are a few tips to help you get back in the groove come September.
Vacation Shopping
Given that I have more than what I need in my condo, I’m resisting the urge to make any purchases for myself or my home. Here are some things I think are great items to pick up when you’re on vacation and have the urge to shop.
Those Dog Days of Summer
When it comes to interior decorating, summers are the hardest times to get contractors as they have already been booked in advance. Here are some things you can do in the dog days of summer.
Choosing Artwork for Your Home
Original artwork is a huge treat when you can find paintings or art pieces that resonate with you and your aesthetic. Here are some helpful tips when choosing artwork for your home.
Beach Items for the Home
There are some retailers that are known for their coastal aesthetic like Serena & Lily and even big box stores like Target and Walmart in warmer seasons and climates. Avoid the urge to go coastal crazy but think strategically about what elements of summer and the ocean you may want to bring in that can last beyond summer. Here are a few tips!
Happy Birthday America (& Noah) – A Look at Home Products Made in America
Because the Fourth of July is celebrating our independence, I thought it would be only appropriate to look at American Made products for the home that we can celebrate by supporting!
Featured Retailer - West Elm
I’ve become a fan of West Elm’s aesthetic and unique designs from this retailer born of Pottery Barn and William Sonoma. West Elm seems to be targeting a customer with a more contemporary vibe than its sister companies.
Here are a few items I am loving right now!

Are you Going Coastal?
Recently TikTok-er Lex Nicoleta popularized Grandmother Coastal Chic in design and fashion. Think Diane Keaton in Something’s Gotta Give decor and clothing and you’ve been a witness to the coastal grandmother chic approach to design.
Today i’ll share my favorite products that help create the Coastal Grandmother vibe in your home.
Duvet or Not Duvet
A duvet is basically a covering for a comforter in a design you love and possibly can’t get in a comforter. I recently fell prey to the pattern of my new duvet for my bedroom and I love it. I’m a bit of a tosser and turner at night so that was another reason I put off purchasing a duvet. The good news is that I’m finding it to be easier than I expected to keep it in place. Here are a few duvet covers I love.
Featured Retailer - Walmart
